Bomb Squad

Established in 2020, our Regional Bomb Squad provides specialized explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) services to 15 counties across East Texas. Accredited by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (Accreditation No. 6460), our team is committed to maintaining the highest standards of training, professionalism, and operational readiness. Our squad consists of three certified bomb technicians, each completing a minimum of 288 hours of annual training to maintain proficiency in the latest techniques, equipment, and safety protocols. Every three years, each technician attends the Hazardous Devices School in Huntsville, Alabama, for a week-long recertification program to ensure continued compliance with national certification standards. To further strengthen our capabilities, our team routinely conducts joint training exercises with bomb squads throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth area, enhancing interoperability and preparedness to safely respond to explosive threats throughout the region.
